Rangers have been rocked by the news that Jermain Defoe could miss out against Feyenoord after picking up an injury in training [Rangers].
The veteran striker is the only real back-up to Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos and the perfect answer if Rangers are chasing a goal late in the game.
His presence in the side could be missed, but does it offer someone with little experience on the European stage the chance to stake a claim?

Greg Stewart might be 29 and have played plenty in Scotland but appearances on the continent have been limited for the forward.
In fact, Stewart’s first appearances in Europe came with Aberdeen in the 17/18 season, making four in total and scoring once as the Dons crashed out in the Europa League qualifying second round.
Whilst at Rangers, Stewart played three times in qualifying and even came off the bench in the group stage proper against Young Boys.
Capable of playing along the front three, Stewart may well fill the void on the bench potentially left by Jermain Defoe.

Despite never really being tested at this level, this could be a chance for Stewart to show the travelling Rangers fans he can cut it on the continent.
And perhaps stake a claim for more opportunities in the first team too.
