Rangers midfielder Connor Barron has been one of the brightest signings of the Philippe Clement era at Ibrox.

The 22-year-old midfielder finds himself in the Scotland squad after an impressive first season at Ibrox following a summer switch from Aberdeen.

But even Connor Barron wasn’t immune from criticism in the devastating 1-1 draw with Dundee United at the weekend, which subsequently saw the Gers slip 11 points behind in the Scottish Premiership.

Despite that result, Barron insists that the Rangers team are sticking together and claims Philippe Clement remains ‘positive’ despite calls for the manager’s head amongst supporters.

Connor Barron insists manager is ‘positive’

“We’re all on the same page, we’re all a team, we’re all in it together,” Barron told Sky Sports.

“It’s down to all of us to go and pull our weight on Thursday and make sure we get a result.

”The gaffer has been fine. He’s been positive, been looking at things, obviously we’ve went over the game.

“But we’ve got to move quickly on to the next one. That’s how football works.

“We’ve got to move again and pick up on where we left off but make it even better and make sure we get the three points.”

Rangers star responds to Ibrox boos

Connor Barron and his Rangers teammates left the pitch at Ibrox over the weekend to a chorus of boos from frustrated supporters.

The Gers have had a disastrous start to the season domestically with fans not seeing enough goals, results or performances from too many in the Ibrox camp.

Despite this, Connor Barron is determined not to get too downhearted and the ex-Pittodrie midfielder has called on his teammates to get fans back onside.

The comments come ahead of Rangers’ Europa League visit to play OGC Nice in France on Thursday evening.

”You obviously hear (the reaction of the fans),” said Barron. “But you’ve got to block it out at the same time.

”You’ve got to use it as fuel and you’ve got to make sure you bounce back and you make them happy.

”That’s our job. We’ve got to make them happy and we haven’t been doing that, especially at the weekend obviously.

”But we’ve got a chance to go and do it this week, so let’s go do it.

”Yeah, definitely (we can turn it around quickly). That’s where you want to be, when they’re all smiling, cheering you’re name, so we want to go and do that.”
