Reports linking Rangers winger Jordan Jones with QPR and Mark Warburton come at a time when the Gers are reportedly interested in one of the ex-Ibrox boss’ own players.

With Northern Irish international Jones reportedly on the radar of QPR [Scottish Sun], Rangers have previously been linked with a move for Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Just as in the case of Daniel Johnson at Preston – could the Ulster winger be used a makeweight in any proposed interest in the QPR star?

The same report which linked Jones to QPR also suggested that Alex Neil and Preston were interested in a move for the player.

With Rangers reportedly interested in Deepdale talisman Johnson, the suggestion is that Jones could be used as a makeweight in the deal.

Whilst the reports concerning Osayi-Samuel are a little more dubious and certainly not as intense as those surrounding Johnson, Rangers have also been linked with a move for the QPR winger.

Crystal Palace are said to be amongst the frontrunners for Samuel with the Premier League club mulling over whether or not to meet his £5m asking price.

The 22-year-old is also said to be eager to hook up with ex-teammate Ebere Eze at Selhurst Park after the player moved to the Premier League club last month in a £20m deal.

As a result, Osayi-Samuel is said to be stalling over a new deal at Loftus Road [Sky Sports] with his heart set on a move to the Eagles.

But that hasn’t stopped Football Insider linking the player to Ibrox – who Rangers could pick up on a pre-contract in January – with that report being carried across the mainstream press.

However, reports have also claimed that Celtic have entered the race for the player [Scottish Sun] with one eye on a pre-contract move.

It might be ambitious, but should QPR make their interest in Jones official, if Rangers really are interested in Osayi-Samuel they should at least ask the question.
