Rapid Vienna’s sporting director Zoran Barisic has said “anything can happen” with midfielder Dejan Ljubicic amid links to Rangers.
The 22-year-old Austrian midfielder was linked with a £2m move to Rangers alongside Old Firm rivals Celtic and Championship outfit Brentford in the Daily Mail.
Gers fans will remember Ljubicic as the player who scored the only goal in Rangers’ 1-0 Europa League defeat in Vienna two seasons ago.

Speaking to Austrian media Krone, Barisic was asked if Rapid can hold on to the midfielder, whose recent form is said to be interesting the Austrian national team.
“I hope so. Anything can happen,” said Barisic.
“There is currently no concrete offer, only loose inquiries.
“There will be no emergency sales. The economic situation is well known and challenging, but I would be stupid to put price tags on my players.”
Ljubicic – who came through the youth ranks at Rapid Vienna – is one of a number of transitional, play-linking midfielders being linked to Rangers.
The Ibrox club has also been linked to Heidenheim’s Niklas Dorsch in Germany [InFranken] as well Bongani Zungu, Amiens’ South African international midfielder [Joe Crann].

All three players possess similar qualities and there appears to be a theme developing between the reports.
Sporting director Zoran Barisic makes it clear here that his Rapid Vienna side are open to negotiations when it comes to the one currently plying his trade in Austria.
