Rangers youngster Findlay Curtis is currently thriving on loan at Kilmarnock this season.

The 19-year-old was at Ibrox for the first half of the campaign, but was a bit-part player given the competition for places.

His loan move to Rugby Park has paid off, with him now on the cusp of making his senior debut for Scotland.

Dan Purdy watched Findlay Curtis twice in person at Kilmarnock

According to Rangers Review’s Chris Jack, technical director Dan Purdy has been keeping close tabs on Curtis‘ progress, watching him twice in person from the stands.

The youngster starred in a 3-0 win over Aberdeen, which was his debut for his new club.

Danny Rohl is also known to share a good relationship with him and has been paying attention to how he has been faring out on loan.

The Rangers boss even messaged Curtis when his Scotland call-up was confirmed to congratulate him on his progress.

The Ibrox outfit are also delighted that the Scotsman moved to a club in the Premiership as they can see how he fares against similar kinds of opponents.

There was interest shown in him from clubs in England’s third tier and the Scottish Championship as well, but the decision was made to let him play for Kilmarnock.

Why Curtis appears to have a bright future at Rangers

Rohl has been impressed with Curtis’ loan spell and the wide player is expected to be in the German’s plans for next season.

The German could have been selfish and kept the 19-year-old for squad depth, but he, along with the other decision makers, felt it was beneficial for him to go out on loan.

This is because he is viewed as someone who has a bright future at the club and could become a first-team regular in the future.

Curtis was initially a centre forward, but was moved to the left wing by Stevie Smith, and that is understood to be his preferred position going forward.

Rohl would surely look to see what system the 19-year-old can fit into when the players are back for pre-season training and he could get a lot of first-team opportunities next season.
