Rangers could face competition from potential Champions League Finalists in the shape of Inter Milan, amid links to Korean international and Olympiakos midfielder Hwang In-Beom.

According to Korea Joongang Daily, the 26-year-old Greek Super League star continues to be of interest to Inter after they sent scouts to watch him play in January.

This is in keeping with reports from the time, which had claimed the Serie A side were in Greece to watch Hwang In-Beom, who is one of Olympiakos’s prime assets.

Rangers also appear to have a presence in Greece and there have been several players from the Greek Super League linked with a move to Ibrox ahead of a busy summer transfer window.

Inter on verge on CL Final amid Rangers-linked Hwang In-Beom reports

While the subject of the club’s Greek scouting effort looks increasingly like Aris’s Honduran winger Luis Palma, Hwang In-Beom was mentioned earlier in the year.

The links to Rangers looked even more ambitious when Hwang In-Beom was rated at £13m, a fee which the Ibrox side are never likely to pay but which Inter could be in a position to.

Especially when you consider that the Italian giants sit on the verge of a trip to the Champions League Final, with Simeone Inzaghi’s side holding a 2-0 lead over their eternal rivals AC Milan in the competition’s semi-final.

While the Nerazzurri face a return leg against the Rossoneri next week, where one half of the Champions League Final this season will be decided, they already have one foot in Istanbul.

The winners will face off against either Manchester City or Real Madrid in the final, but it is quite something to suggest that Rangers will be able to compete with a likely Champions League finalist in the transfer market.

If both Rangers and Inter are interested in Hwang In-Beom, and especially at the price reportedly listed by Olympiakos, then we suspect there is only one destination for the midfielder.
