Old Firm rivals Celtic would’ve caught Rangers-linked Giannis Kotsiras in a recent scouting trip to Greece – but it appears Levi Garcia and not the right-back were the subject of their visit.
The Ibrox side might be the team everyone’s eyes are on heading into the summer window as Michael Beale admits there could be as many as 12 players turned over in the coming window.

One of these names is reportedly Giannis Kotsiras, a Greek international right-back whose been linked to Rangers as a sort of James Tavernier understudy.
The Gers have also had a series of scouts out in Greece this season, with the likes of Luis Palma of Aris and – rather ambitiously – Hwang In-Beom of Olympiakos also routinely mentioned.
But whilst Giannis Kotsiras would’ve within eyeshot of the visiting Celtic party, according to the reports, it is Trinidadian winger Levi Garcia who’s the focus of their efforts.
Celtic indirectly watch Rangers-linked Giannis Kotsiras
This comes amid reports the Parkhead side were one of several clubs who’d taken in an Athenian derby over the weekend, with Giannis Kotsiras playing the full game in a 0-0 Panathinaikos draw with AEK Athens.
Whilst the match is not quite Panathinaikos v Olympiakos, it’ll have given the visiting Parkhead scouts a glimpse of their own targets and of a player who’s been linked to Rangers ahead of next season.
The reports also serve as a warning to Rangers, who’ve toiled extensively in the face of their expensively assembled Old Firm rivals this season.
As the Parkhead club prepare to waltz to a fifth treble in seven seasons, a disgraceful outcome for which heads are currently rolling at Rangers, it’s clear investment will happen across the city this summer too.
Rangers have to just focus on getting things right at Rangers however and so far, at last in terms of signings, it’s been so good for Michael Beale.
The Gers boss is seeing the likes of Nicolas Raskin settle in and Todd Cantwell not only get under the skin of Celtic fans, but show glimpses of his talent at Ibrox too.
