Celtic join Rangers in hunt for wonderkid amid links to huge clubs - report

Old Firm rivals Celtic reportedly join Rangers in the race to sign highly-rated teenage winger Kwadwo Baah after a proposed move to Manchester City fell through.

The Rochdale winger was initially mentioned alongside Rangers by the Athletic, who claimed the Gers were battling the likes of West Ham, Juventus, and Bayern Munich for the 18-year-old.

The Guardian then claimed Baah had agreed a pre-contract deal with Man City and would be farmed back out on loan to Rochdale next season.

However, according to the Telegraph, Baah reportedly failed a medical at Manchester City which means his future remains up in the air ahead of next season.

Despite these claims, Baah continues to play for the Dale, Playing 20 League One games on the bounce for Rochdale before being benched in the weekend’s 2-1 win over Lincoln.

But now Ghana Soccernet is claiming an exclusive regarding Celtic’s interest in the player with cross-border compensation rules making this move attractive to both sides of the Old Firm.

Baah was born to Ghanaian parents in Germany but grew up in south London and spent time in the Crystal Palace youth set-up as a kid.

The winger’s future remains up in the air but there certainly appears to be plenty of interest regarding the player and one suspects this won’t be the last time Rangers are mentioned alongside him.

Baah isn’t the only player down south being linked with a pre-contract move to Ibrox with an out-of-contract striker reportedly interesting the powers that be at Rangers.
