Celtic boss’ “touch of class” Rangers complaints could come back to haunt him

Some old quotes of Celtic boss Neil Lennon could come back to haunt him as the very real prospect of Rangers coming to Parkhead as Champions becomes a reality.

Barring an unlikely Rangers collapse, the club will win the league title when they secure another 17 points over the next six games.

The sixth of those games is at Celtic Park but given our rivals form there is no guarantee they’ll be able to match Rangers in this busy part of the season.

Should Rangers lift 55 – which is an inevitability rather than a possibility – before the trip to Parkhead, then some of the conversation might move on to a Guard of Honour.

Rangers refused to give one to Celtic in 2019 but it’s the comments of Celtic boss Neil Lennon then which will have a few people talking should the event become a possibility.

Lennon claimed that Celtic would’ve given Rangers a guard of honour should the roles have been reversed – will it ring true this time around?

“It’s a break from tradition. I think we would have done it if the shoe had been on the other foot. But it’s not a major issue,” said Lennon [Scottish Sun].

“It would have been a touch of class if they did it. I’m disappointed they are not. Celtic would have done it.”

It just gets better and better – over to you Lenny, let’s see if you are a man of your word.

Celtic fans might be crying about the death of their dominance in Scotland but we can assure you, they’ll get no sympathy from Rangers supporters.
