Celtic boss Neil Lennon has said Rangers’ Old Firm rivals should be awarded the Scottish Premiership title if the season is cancelled.
The Hoops manager couldn’t come out quick enough with claims that the title deserves to be at Parkhead if coronavirus forces an extended shut-down, much to the despair of the Rangers support.
But as the infection takes hold across the UK and the SPFL postpone fixtures, Neil Lennon is singing from a different hymn sheet than he was last week.

As Celtic stretched their lead to the top of the league table to 13 points, Lennon said his side would be taking nothing for granted as the season entered its final furlong.
In fact, the Celtic boss insisted that the “league’s not done yet” with Rangers having a game in hand and two Old Firms to come.
“We’ve extended our lead which just shows you sometimes get what you deserve,” said Lennon [One Football].
“That’s all it is, a fantastic position and we march on.
“I want them to get better, I want more from some of the players as we go along.
“The league’s not done yet, we’ve got St Mirren on Saturday who are no pushovers and we can’t take anything for granted.”
If results Rangers can control went in the club’s favour, and Celtic won every match barring the Old Firm derbies, the Gers would be within four points off their rivals with up to four matches to play after the split.
It’s a long shot, but the footballing authorities cannot rule out the potential for something like this to happen.
Similarly, Hearts are currently four points adrift at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership with 24 points still to play for.

Do you really think they’ll willfully take relegation from the top division to appease Celtic’s desperate pleas if the season is ended prematurely?
In Neil Lennon’s own words, “the league’s not done yet”. In the interest of fairness, somehow the season will need to be completed before any awards are handed out.
