Jordan Rossiter has been returning in 7-10 days for close to three years.
Whilst the prolonged nature of his injury has been draining, and we might crack jokes, it’s not been very funny for Rossiter himself. Or the club.
But now we have a break from competitive action it’s a real chance for the young midfielder to get his fitness up.
Yet to see anything like the best of Rossiter
The former England youth captain’s signature was considered a real coup by Mark Warburton and Frank McParland. The former Liverpool youth was immensely highly rated down South and Rangers got him at a snip for £250,000. His contract had expired at Liverpool.

Since he joined the club, Rossiter has had major injury after major injury. His knee has been a constant source of pain for the youngster. There hasn’t been an unluckier player at Ibrox in recent memory.
But when he has played he has shown real flashes of his ability. It really feels like this year it’s now or never for the Scouser.
Stage set for midfielder to flourish
Now, Jordan Rossiter is… I’m not even going to say it. He came on as a sub against Ayr United and Rangers are being very careful with him.
If he can really push himself this fortnight and get some minutes in bounce games, it’ll be a huge boost.

He is a combative midfielder and Rangers have lacked a depth in that role at times. Under Steven Gerrard, the midfielder too has a boss he can learn off and who can guide him.
There’s never been a better time in Rossiter’s three years at the club to really progress.
Let’s just hope he can stay off the treatment table.
