Callum McGregor Rangers & Celtic comments validated after Old Firm

Before the Old Firm derby kicked off, Callum McGregor was saying there was no discernible “gulf in quality” between Rangers and Celtic [originally Sky Sports].
By the time the final whistle went, that was as clear as day. For the first time in years, we can match Celtic. And going by McGregor’s comments, they know it.
It’s never nice to be beaten in an Old Firm. Especially when you’re let down by individual errors. Morelos’ red card was verging on unforgivable. It would’ve been had we got hammered.

James Tavernier too sold the jersey for their winner. It’s sore for the fans to take – but it’ll be even sorer for the Rangers’ captain. Joe Worrall too should’ve gone in earlier on Edouard for Celtic’s first.
But aside from these big mistakes, Rangers matched our rivals. What’s crazy is that we did it with ten men in the second half. We really let ourselves down in the first.
Callum McGregor is right – there is no gulf in quality between these two sides. And it’s time for Rangers to start believing that too.

The fear factor surrounding Celtic is gone and I wouldn’t be surprised if we turned them over in the final Old Firm of the season when they come back to Ibrox. They are there for the taking.
And so is their crown. Especially if Celtic retain the services of Neil Lennon next season.
