Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are one of three names being linked to Hearts full-back and one-time Rangers target Aaron Hickey by BBC Sport.
Left-back Hickey, 18, was most recently linked to Rangers back in May and following Hearts’ relegation to the Championship the Tynecastle club may well cash in on the player.
According to BBC Scotland, Serie A side Bologna and Premier League Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the player.
The report claims that with Hickey in the final year of his contract Heart are looking for around £1.5m for the player.
A former Celtic youth, it remains to be seen if Rangers have made any enquiry about the player or followed up the reported interest.
Rangers were heavily linked to the player in October 2019, so much so that then Jambos boss Craig Levein was asked about the interest in the press.
Alongside joking about putting in a bid for Alfredo Morelos, Levein also suggested that the links were to put his side off a match with Rangers.
“Who do we play at the weekend?” said Levein [EEN].
“We’re going to put an offer in for (Alfredo) Morelos tomorrow. I’m taking that one with a lump of salt.”
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard also said he sympathised with Levein at the time claiming that those links to Hickey back then had substance.
“Lewis Gibson isn’t on the radar, it’s just speculation,” said Gerrard [EEN].
“The kid at Hearts, Hickey, is the same. Craig Levein has had to answer that question but he shouldn’t because there’s nothing in it.”
Whilst Rangers are still routinely being linked to Hickey in the media, the club have also signed another left-back in the shape of ex-Leicester youth Calvin Bassey.
Croatian international Borna Barisic also remains the first choice of Steven Gerrard’s side.
