Rangers star Borna Barisic has credited the Ibrox club’s supporters for singing his name as he begins to find his feet in Glasgow.

The Croatian international full-back has been on some wonderfully consistent form down that problem left-hand side for the last month or two.

Playing with confidence and now an important fixture in Steven Gerrard’s side, Barisic has thanked supporters for “amazing” support he’s received as a result.

“I have to say that our fans were also amazing as always [against Hearts in the Betfred Cup],” said Barisic [Evening Times].

“So thank you for that support.

“I really enjoy it when they sing my song, it is an amazing feeling. When I say it to my friends in Croatia, they listen to the song! It is really good.

“Of course it gives you a boost. I am a professional player and when someone sings your song, especially when there are 20,000 or 30,000 people, it is amazing, really amazing.”

It’s been an impressive rise from Barisic following a tumultuous first year in Scotland hampered by injury and a lack of form.

The Croatian’s number seemed up before he established himself in the side this season and it’s to his credit the Gers fans have paid tribute to him in song.

Rangers fans have adopted Culture Club’s 1983 classic Karma Chameleon to the tune of Barisic’s name and it’s clearly had a profound effect on the wing-back.
