Bolton fans rejoice as former Rangers attacker Joe Dodoo signs

On Thursday afternoon, after teasing their supporters earlier in the day, Bolton Wanderers announced the signing of Joe Dodoo.

The 24-year-old striker agreed to have his Rangers contract terminated on Deadline Day and had been without a club for a month.

However, he’s now officially joined the EFL League One side, on a deal until the end of the season.

“I am extremely happy to have signed with Bolton Wanderers,” Dodoo told “I have worked with David Flitcroft (current assistant manager at Bolton) before and having left Rangers, I wanted to link back up with him to get some guidance, get game time and play for this big club.”

“Flicker (David Flitcroft) and the manager are building something special here and I want to be a part of the rebuilding process and get this club back to where it needs to be.”

The repercussions of the financial issues are still being felt, though, with the club needing to regroup having lost the majority of their playing staff.

Dodoo joins with the club bottom of EFL League One on -9 points following a deduction from the EFL.

However, given how close Wanderers were to oblivion, there appears to be a feeling of optimism rather than doom and gloom.

The arrival of this former Ger has only added to that sense and plenty of fans expressed their delight at the signing.
