Rangers’ bitter Europa League rivals Slavia Prague are also on the verge of going the domestic league season unbeaten as the Gers head into their final two matches.

The Gers crashed out of the Europa League at the hands of the Czech Champions, but the match was overshadowed by an incidence of racist abuse aimed at Gers midfielder Glen Kamara.

Czech international defender Ondrej Kudela would eventually be banned for 10 games for racially abusing Kamara whilst the Gers star will serve a three-game ban for reacting to the incident [BBC].

It’s left a majorly salty taste in the mouth between the two clubs with both sets of supporters striking up a rivalry and Rangers fans eager for revenge.

But as the Gers sit two games away from an unbeaten season in the Scottish Premiership, similarly over in Eastern Europe the Prague club could be about to do the same.

Slavia sit four games from an unbeaten campaign whilst they also have a Czech Cup Final to come against Viktoria Plzen later in May.

Rangers must avoid defeat in their final two matches of the season to complete the feat in Scotland, the Gers set to visit Livingston and host Aberdeen next week.

So far Jindřich Trpišovský’s side have played 30 games so far in the Czech First League, winning 24 and drawing six in form which has already seen them crowned the Champions of the country.

This might not be the last that we hear of the stubborn Czech side on the football pitch either as the two clubs look towards Champions League qualification next season.

The Ibrox club could face Slavia in the Champions Path of Champions League Qualification at the Playoff stage should Steven Gerrard’s side reach this stage of the competition.

Rangers have also been handed a major European advantage over Celtic heading into next season as the club looks to reach the competition’s group stages for the first time in over a decade.
