A bid from an “unnamed club” has been made for reported Rangers and Celtic target Bahlul Mustafazada, according to reports in the player’s homeland [quoted by the Daily Record].
The 22-year-old Qabala centre-back issued a come and get me plea to either side of the Old Firm earlier in the month, saying he’d do everything in his power to make a move happen [Daily Record].
This was after reports in Azerbaijan had linked Rangers with the player.
And now someone has made their interest official with a bid. According to the Scotsman, it looks like it might be Celtic.
Speaking about the potential move, Mustafazada said he was open to a move from either side, but talked up Steven Gerrard.
“My aim is to play abroad and I have read about the interest from both Celtic and Rangers,” said the Azerbaijani player, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“There’s been nothing concrete yet though. I would do anything to try and make this move happen. Celtic or Rangers? For me, there is no difference.
“It would be interesting to work with a coach like Steven Gerrard, but the main thing for me is my development. I do not intend to join any of the clubs in Glasgow just to sit on the bench.”
There definitely seems to be interest from at least one club for the player. If it is Celtic, could Rangers sneak in and hijack any deal?
