It’s fair to say the Scottish League Cup Semi Final fiasco has been met with all kinds of comments.
Some think it’s ludicrous, others think it’s fantastic, but there’s no doubt it’s also intriguing. Rangers play Aberdeen at 12pm on Sunday 28th October. Hearts play Celtic only a few after the game finishes at 7:45pm.
That means over 100,000 fans of the most supported clubs in Scotland will swarm Glasgow on the same day, posing all kinds of problems for the authorities. Not least for the good people of Mount Florida. Spare a thought for the Hampden staff as well.
Most fans have been seeing the funny side though. At the end of the day, it’s up to the supporters to make the day a memorable one. Talk of violence and disorder are often overstated in the run up to these events by fans and the media. I’m sure fans of all sides will be focusing purely on the football on the day.
For all four sets of fans though, it’s the chance to reach the League Cup Final and will be a big day in their calendar. Whilst Rangers fans will be happy with either team in the final if they can get past Aberdeen, the thought of an Old Firm final has people salivating.
