One of the first players that Rangers were linked with in the summer transfer window was Luis Palma, a player who is now lining up for Celtic.
At his current rate, the Honduras winger is hitting a goal or an assist every game with three goals and one assist already to his name in six appearances.
To make matters worse, Celtic moved late for the 23-year old and Rangers could have had Luis Palma lining up on their right-hand side, a position that has been a problem for years.

Rangers missed a trick by not signing Luis Palma
The reality, is that Celtic didn’t “need” Palma.
With Daizen Maeda, James Forrest, Liel Abada and Sead Haksabanovic, they were well stocked, Tomoki Iwata was also signed in January.
Rangers needed Luis Palma.
A goalscoring wide forward.
A natural right winger.
One that was available for a reported £3.5m, the same price Michael Beale paid for Sam Lammers, who is really struggling for goals.
What we didn’t need, with Ianis Hagi, Tom Lawrence, Todd Cantwell and Alex Lowry, was another number 10 and yet Lammers was still signed.
Other than Abdallah Sima, Rangers don’t have a player currently available who would have scored the goal that Luis Palma did against Atletico Madrid.
Someone who wants to do more than just beat the first man and get to the byline but be a genuine goal threat and add numbers to their game too.
If everyone is fit, Lammers probably doesn’t play which, considering the money that was spent on him, isn’t a great use of resources.
Considering Ryan Kent and Fashion Sakala left in the summer, Luis Palma would easily sit above Scott Wright in the pecking order for Rangers and probably Rabbi Matondo too until the Welshman’s recent resurrection.
Palma suggested that Rangers had enquired but not made an official bid for him or table a contract offer but, for £3.5m, after the sale of Fashion Sakala, he should have been a priority.
Let’s hope it’s not a mistake that comes back to bite us.
