Rangers forward Abdallah Sima has been hailed by former defender Lee McCulloch after his performance against Hibernian.
Philippe Clement took charge of Rangers for the first time on Saturday afternoon – and it could hardly have gone much better for him.
The Belgian boss saw Rangers rack up a superb 4-0 victory, getting his Ibrox reign off to a perfect start.
Sima opened the scoring before midfielder Nicolas Raskin drilled home an outstanding long-range strike on the stroke of half time.
Sima lashed home number three and under-fire striker Cyriel Dessers was even able to get on the scoresheet, slotting home Todd Cantwell’s reverse pass.
Abdallah Sima praised after Rangers impact
This was another strong performance from Sima, whose numbers this season now look very impressive.
Sima has now moved onto nine goals in 16 games across all competitions, proving to be one of the better Rangers summer signings.
The Senegalese attacker showed off his pace with his run for the opening goal – and that’s what really impressed pundit Lee McCulloch.
Former Rangers defender McCulloch told BBC Sport that Sima’s speed to get away from the Hibs back line was ‘really impressive’.
McCulloch also noted Sima’s composure to finish the chance, firing his strike across David Marshall and into the back of the net.
“Not just his composure to finish it, but the pace to get away from the defender is really impressive,” said McCulloch.

Brighton keeping tabs on Sima amid Sam Jewell rumours
Sima’s form won’t have gone unnoticed at Brighton and Hove Albion, with the Seagulls hoping to see him really kick on this season.
What’s interesting is that Rangers have been interested in taking Brighton recruitment chief Sam Jewell to Ibrox.
Jewell has been a vital part of the Brighton operation for a while now and was at the club when Sima joined from Slavia Prague in 2021.
Rangers seemingly wanted Jewell but The Sun’s Alan Nixon reports that he has now decided to stay at Brighton.
Jewell and his Brighton colleagues will now keep a close eye on Sima’s progress, no doubt hoping that he can become a first-team player at the Amex Stadium moving forward.
