Rangers’ tie with Bayer Leverkusen could be played behind closed-doors amid fears of a coronavirus outbreak in Germany, according to the Telegraph.
The newspaper is reporting that the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany has seen cases of the deadly virus multiply in the region where the BayArena is located.
According to the Telegraph report, there were 14 confirmed cases by Thursday 27th February after the first case was only confirmed on Monday 24th.
Should this continue Rangers would face the very real threat of a ban on large groups of people congregating for the match.
It would act as a bitter disappointment for Rangers fans, desperate for a trip to Germany to see their heroes turn out against the Bundesliga club.

This was after comments Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce made about altering training ground routines due to the threat of the infection [Guardian].

With huge numbers already planning on making the trip to Germany, Rangers fans would be left bitterly disappointed if the situation called for the game to be played behind closed-doors.
Rangers are set to travel to Leverkusen on the 19th of March at 5:55pm GMT, with the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 tie being played at Ibrox on the 12th at 8pm GMT.
