Barry Ferguson thinks Rangers will accept £8m for Alfredo Morelos

Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has claimed he fears the worst when it comes to the future of Gers striker Alfredo Morelos.
And he also thinks Rangers will accept a knockdown offer for the Colombian firebrand.
Talking to PLZ Soccer’s Youtube channel, Ferguson laid bare his expectations for Morelos this transfer window. And he thinks Rangers will be willing to deal for less than £10m.

“It looks that way to me,” Morelos told PLZ Soccer [20/05/2019].
“If Rangers get a decent offer in, they have got to seriously consider it if it’s around the £8 million mark – if you’re asking me I don’t think he’ll be [at Rangers next season].”

That is less than half of the asking price quoted by Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson. He claimed at the ORSA Convention that Rangers want closer to £20m.
The idea that Rangers would then sell their best asset for such a knockdown price seems fanciful. Morelos’ 30 goals are surely worth more than £8m to Rangers and any potential buyer.
But rating the player so low financially didn’t stop Ferguson praising the player’s form this season.
“Great to get to 30 goals,” Ferguson told PLZ Soccer. “He’s had a good season. Whether he’s going to be there next season or not, we don’t know. But 30 goals, the only thing you could label against him is obviously his sending-offs. But overall, a good season for him.”

And yet Barry Ferguson believes Rangers would be willing to deal at such a knockdown price for the player?
Steven Gerrard’s comments after the Kilmarnock match suggest that unless someone matches the club’s asking price,
it’s looking likely Morelos will be at Ibrox next season [STV].
Is that asking price likely to be so low?
