Barry Ferguson has identified his Man of the Match after Rangers’ 2-0 win over Celtic, via his Daily Record column.
The Gers were outstanding on the day and there was no shortage of candidates.
James Tavernier scored the opener and was excellent throughout, Nikola Katic was a rock at the back, while Jermain Defoe led the line well.

Furthermore, Ferguson admits that Scott Arfield came a close second. The Canada international was absolutely everywhere and applied a cool finish to double the Gers advantage and secure the points.
However, the former skipper believes Glen Kamara’s display was the best of the lot.
“When I watched Dundee he was always the player who caught the eye in terms of getting on the ball and passing it but it’s hard when you’re playing in a toiling team,” Ferguson wrote in
“I thought he’d need time to settle but he has just fitted in and looked like he’s been part of that team for a number of years. He’s really elegant on the ball, I really like him.
“The second goal reflected his class –great wee turn, lovely ball into Jermain Defoe for the dummy and then obviously Arfield finished it brilliantly.”

Verdict
In recent times, former players haven’t always been glowing in their assessments of Rangers.
However, the players haven’t given them much of an option after this latest performance. To a man, they were outstanding at Ibrox on Sunday.
Few would protest too much about Man of the Match for Kamara, either. He looks every inch the sort of player Rangers need in midfield. He certainly passed his first Old Firm start, with flying colours.
