Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is being linked with a move to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

According to Diario AS, Diego Simeone’s side are considering a move for the striker after an explosive season in the Europa League.

The Colombian forward was naturally compared to former Atleti star Falcao, with the Los Cafeteros legend enjoying amongst his best footballing years in the Spanish capital.

The report claims that talk of Morelos moving to the Wanda Metropolitano originates in Scotland, with the Daily Mail claiming Madrid believe it’ll take £10-15m to sign the forward.

Alfredo is a fan favourite at Ibrox but recent misdemeanours off-the-field have been coupled with a dramatic dip in form since the turn of 2020.

It’s left Gers fans questioning whether the 29-goal forward is worth the hassle and if the club can squeeze a little more out of the Spanish giants Morelos leaving may not disappoint fans too much.

Atletico Madrid currently have four forwards at the club in the shape of Diego Costa, Alvaro Morata, Joao Felix and Ivan Šaponjić.

However, Simeone’s side have struggled for goals in the Spanish top flight this season with their underwhelming 31 strikes seeing the Champions League outfit languishing in 6th place.
