Struggling Premier League giants Arsenal are ready to turn to former Rangers defender Joe Worrall in an astonishing move to solve their defensive woes.

Now back at Nottingham Forest, Football Insider are claiming that Unai Emery’s side are seriously considering bidding for the Championship defender.

A mixed performer during his time at Ibrox, turning out at the Emirates would be some transformation from selling the jerseys in that fateful game at Rugby Park.

The report claims that Arsenal scouts are set to watch Forest’s match with QPR, managed by former Rangers boss Mark Warburton, as they assess centre-half.

Now 22, Worrall has commanded a regular place at Forest this season and has played every minute of the club’s league campaign so far this season.

His form has been in stark contrast to some of his performances at Rangers, were Worrall was derided by fans for being cocky and complacent on the ball.

There were however some top, top performances from Worrall, with matches in the Europa League and against Old Firm rivals Celtic particularly standing out.

Should he make the leap from Nottingham to London, it would be a monumental rise for the diehard Forest fan.

It wouldn’t be the first time Worrall has attracted Premier League interest either.
