On Wednesday, Football Scotland reported that their sources at Rincon Escoces had confirmed Real Betis were interested in signing Alfredo Morelos from Rangers.
The striker is currently serving a suspension, after picking up a red card at Aberdeen.
He has been in red hot form all season, though, and now has 23 goals in all competitions.

That’s more than some of the most celebrated strikers in Europe.
Bears will be hoping he stays at the club for many years to come, but if a massive offer arrives in the summer, Rangers may find it hard to turn down.

Would Betis be a big enough move?

A few years back, you could argue not.
The Seville based side looked to be becoming a bit of a yo-yo team, flitting in between the first and second tier of Spanish football.
However, since their most recent return to La Liga in 2015-16, things have been on the up.

Last season, they finished an impressive sixth ahead of their fierce rivals Sevilla, as well as the likes of Espanyol and Real Sociedad.
They are backing that up this season. They currently reside in 7th spot and topped their Europa League group which included Olympiacos and AC Milan.
Furthermore, they have a large, passionate fan base to please.

Their ground, the Estadio Benito Villamarin, has a capacity of over 60,000. Domestic attendances can often top 50k.

Some have said that if Morelos leaves Rangers, he’ll struggle to find a place where he’s as adored as much as at Ibrox.

Yet, with only 26 goals in 23 matches in the league this season, Betis are crying out for a goalscorer.
Of course, for language reasons, a move to Spain might also be suitable.
The La Liga outfit are one of Europe’s most rapidly improving clubs. Therefore, if they do swoop for Morleos in the summer, it may be a tough move to turn down.
