Any Frank Lampard Chelsea homecoming shouldn't scare Rangers fans

At the beginning of last season, there was a bit of an evolution in the English game as two of the greatest players of a generation transferred into the next generation of managers.
Steven Gerrard took charge at Rangers, Frank Lampard took charge at Derby County. These were the most influential English midfielders for club and country in a generation.
Now, at the helm of two sleeping institutions, they were to test their mettle as managers. And both have come up pretty well.

After guiding Derby to the Playoff Final, Frank Lampard is said to be interesting Chelsea, the club where he dedicated the largest portion of his career. The club where he remains top goalscorer.
The Sun are reporting Lampard is set for a “fairytale return” to Stamford Bridge after the eccentric Maurizio Sarri jumped ship to Juventus. Could you blame Frank if he was interested?

But what are the chances of Steven Gerrard doing the same thing to Rangers? Well, Liverpool aside, you have to say very unlikely.
There can be no doubting Stevie G’s allegiance to Anfield. But given Klopp’s recent record and the current buzz around the club, you can’t see the German leaving any time soon. Even if he did, is Gerrard quite there yet to take over the helm?
That said, you get the feeling one day the job will belong to Steven Gerrard. But a romantic at heart, Stevie G has his set on making the difference at Ibrox. Forget the bluster of the Premier League, for now, Liverpool or otherwise.

At the club’s most recent AGM, Steven Gerrard proudly announced that he was “blessed” to be Gers manager and that he hopes to “stay here for a very long time”. Gerrard said that he has two teams in his heart now, Liverpool and Rangers [the Guardian].
And with his track record, you have to believe him.
So, unless Liverpool, or perhaps the England national team come calling, our man appears to be going nowhere
