So far this season a few secret agents from the Rangers camp have played a big role in hampering Celtic’s season.

The Ibrox club sent a trio of first-team stars to a trio of Scottish Premiership clubs as they looked to strengthen the opposition against our rivals in the race for the title.

But could one player who exited Rangers in the summer land a knockout blow on Celtic and under-fire manager Neil Lennon later this month?

Rangers youngster Stephen Kelly was the latest to inflict damage on our out-of-sorts rivals when he put in a solid performance in Ross County’s 2-0 Celtic Park win in the League Cup.

This followed Rangers loanee Ross McCrorie helping Aberdeen to a draw against the hapless Parkhead club before Jamie Murphy scored one and assisted another in a 2-2 draw against them with his Hibs side.

Andy Halliday might no longer be a part of the setup at Rangers – and be playing in the second tier with Hearts as they look to earn promotion this season – but his attachment to the club remains.

Halliday, 28, still has plenty to offer this Hearts side and has made a solid start to life at Tynecastle, scoring twice and assisting another in five Championship games this season.

Hearts are currently second behind Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Championship but are the favourites to lift the trophy this season.

But before anything is decided from this campaign the Scottish Cup from last season is still to be concluded with Hearts facing Celtic at Hampden on December 20th.

With Neil Lennon’s job hanging by a thread, Andy Halliday’s Hearts side could well be the team to hand Lennon the fatal blow by lifting last season’s Scottish Cup.

Halliday himself has been speaking about the Celtic fan reaction to their manager Neil Lennon on Open Goal and criticised the treatment of the Parkhead “legend”.
