Andy Little stuck by Rangers at the very start of our journey back up the leagues.
And now, having oversaw us reach the summit of Scottish football seven years later, he believes we can complete the exhausting hike this year.
The former Gers goalscorer has “no doubt” Rangers are capable of winning the title this season. He also believes that Gerrard’s side should be considered contenders already.

Little said:
“If they are still there in that same position at the end of the month they can really be pleased. People would consider them serious contenders then – but I think their challenge should be taken seriously already.
“I’ve no doubt they are capable of winning the title this year. They are top of the table so there’s no reason why they can’t continue that form and be top come the end of the season.”
Rangers must focus on things one game at a time
If Rangers are to mount a challenge, it’s very important they don’t look too far ahead. Even as far at the 29th.
Each league game is worth three points and it’s imperative we don’t slip up. Against Aberdeen, Motherwell and Kilmarnock this season we’ve dropped points after going ahead.
These were winnable matches and had we taken points, we’d be sitting even prettier at the top of the league. Andy Little agrees:

“They could actually be sitting more comfortably at the top were it not for some unlucky breaks in away games early in the season.
“Like when they were down to 10 men at Pittodrie and lost a late goal and then again at Fir Park when Motherwell snatched a draw with the last kick of the game.
“I think it’s cost them at least four to six points in the early stages of the campaign.”
Andy Little played 89 appearances for Rangers and scored 38 goals. Little was the club’s top scorer in the Third Division and left an emotional message for fans when he retired from football earlier in the season.
