Andy Halliday wants to see more from Rangers duo Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi in the final third.

Danny Rohl started the two strikers in the 4-1 victory against Aberdeen at Ibrox, but failed to find the back of the net.

All four goals were scored by different players, but the ones expected to find the target fired blanks on Saturday evening.

Andy Halliday believes Rangers should expect more from Ryan Naderi and Youssef Chermiti

Halliday did the math and stated that Rangers have shelled out 13m to secure the services of Naderi and Chermiti.

The former was signed in the January transfer window, while the latter was a big-money signing in the summer.

Chermiti did take time to adapt to life in the Scottish Premiership, but he has found himself scoring regularly in big games, especially those against Celtic and Hearts.

Naderi, on the other hand, has predominantly been lauded for his role in the build-up and for managing to get the best out of his strike partner rather than creating openings for himself.

Discussing the two strikers’ performance from Ibrox, Halliday said on Open Goal: “Again, your two strikers, not scoring.

“I know they don’t need to score every week.

“The more important thing is obviously winning the game, but you spent £13m on the two strikers.”

Will Danny Rohl drop Chermiti or Naderi for the Dundee United game?

Based on Halliday’s verdict, one may argue that dropping one of the two strikers could make sense for Rohl.

However, seeing how the rest of the team plays when Chermiti and Naderi occupy the defenders makes it a non-starter.

Yes, the German would want to see his two front men scoring more, but as long as Rangers are winning games, he should have no problem with it.

Naderi is still adapting to the Scottish game and the best way to judge him will be from next season.

He is still contributing immensely off the ball, and fans are already starting to appreciate what he brings to the table.

The Gers take on Dundee United next on 4 April, following the international break, and both Chermiti and Naderi, if fit, are likely to start.
