It has now been a year since Andrew Cavenagh became the Chairman of Rangers as his consortium and the 49ers Enterprises completed the takeover.

Despite a lot of positivity following their arrival, there was plenty of upheaval behind the scenes, which saw the sacking of managers and high-profile executives.

In the new owners’ first full season in charge, they oversaw Rangers finishing third in the Scottish Premiership, which was their lowest finish since the 2016/17 campaign.

Andrew Cavenagh speaks to influential figures to understand how to bring success back to Rangers

According to Rangers Review journalist Derek Clark, Andrew Cavenagh has been speaking to influential figures at the club to gauge an understanding of what needs to be done in order to bring success back to the club.

Surely, he would have done his due diligence before taking over the reins, but it is an entirely different ball game once you are at the club and in charge of making the big-picture decisions.

Which area should Rangers prioritise on strengthening this summer? 🤔

Andrew Cavenagh has made some bold promises!

Cavenagh did get the appointment of Russell Martin wrong, but acted quickly to rectify that mistake.

He also realised that Patrick Stewart and Kevin Thelwell did not fit into the club’s culture, so he decided to part ways with them.

Speaking on Rangers Review’s YouTube channel, Clark said: “I think he has now been speaking to influential Rangers figures, whether that be players or whoever, Andrew Cavenagh, and it looks like he’s really gaining an understanding of what this club is all about and what it needs to bring success back.”

How has Cavenagh fared at Ibrox so far?

Looking at the performances on the pitch, it is easy to say that Cavenagh has got things wrong at Rangers.

However, given the mess that he inherited, things were always going to get worse before they got better.

Andrew Cavenagh seems to be working overtime!

This is great news for Rangers… 💪

He has made necessary changes behind the scenes and recruitment in the January transfer window was significantly better than that in the summer.

Also, by signing Lawrence Shankland, the board have made a statement that they will be backing the manager and going big this summer.

Most Gers fans are pleased with what Cavenagh has done, but only time will tell whether or not he can return the club to their glory days.
