Rangers defender Connor Goldson reserved some of his time to speak to the media at La Manga on Friday.
The Englishman is in Spain with the rest of his Rangers teammates for a week-long warm weather training camp where they will also play a closed-door friendly against Hertha Berlin.
Philippe Clement’s side are being put through their paces amid the Scottish Premiership winter break and the January transfer window, as Rangers look to strengthen their squad.
Connor Goldson was in discussion with the Rangers Review to discuss elements such as Clement’s impact at the club so far and the arrival of Fabio Silva from Wolves.
But he also waxed lyrical about Rangers No1 Jack Butland, who has arguably been the signing of the season in Scotland’s top-flight.
Goldson has labelled his fellow countryman as ‘amazing’ and explained how much of a calming presence he is between the sticks behind a defence Goldson is a key part of.
Connor Goldson talks up Jack Butland

Asked initially what it’s like to share a dressing room with Butland – who has kept 12 clean sheets in the league this year – and just how good he is as a goalkeeper.
Goldson replied: “It’s just the presence and the calmness you have behind you. When big moments happen I feel like for a goalkeeper, especially at this club you might not have much to do but when the big moments come he seems to pull off saves and help the team.
“You look at even one in the last game against Kilmarnock although we didn’t keep a clean sheet the one-on-one in the first half at 0-0 if that goes in, Ibrox maybe gets a bit twitching and we maybe don’t play as well.
“10 minutes later we’re 2-0 up and the atmosphere is completely different. It’s brilliant, he comes to collect when balls are in the air so it helps us with set pieces and things like that and with the ball at his feet he can play with us so he’s been an amazing addition.
“He’s a top person as well a real top person around the dressing room, one of the leaders now. Hopefully, long may it continue.”
