Ally McCoist has raved about Rangers star Ryan Kent for a brilliant piece of play during the second half of Thursday evening’s Europa League draw with Brondby [BT Sport].
The Gers didn’t manage to take the momentum from their 6-1 hammering of Motherwell at the weekend into this assignment in Denmark and were disappointing for large periods of the game.

Brondby didn’t create a great deal but they took the lead on the stroke of half-time through an own goal from Leon Balogun and it took the visitors until the 77th minute to level the scores.
Rangers had barely threatened until Kent, Ianis Hagi and Kemar Roofe were introduced off the bench in the 56th minute, and two of the subs combined for the goal.
Kent was the creator, taking a perfect touch to burst into space before driving forward and slipping in Hagi, who fired a right-footed finish into the bottom left corner.
It was a brilliant assist from the 24-year-old, who was making his first appearance since sustaining a hamstring injury against Lyon in mid-September and he received big praise from McCoist in the BT Sport studio.

The Gers’ top all-time goalscorer also approved of Hagi’s clinical finish.
“It’s a beautiful goal, a lovely, fantastic touch from Kent to move forward and it’s a very important point,” he said [BT Sport].
“It’s three things. It’s the touch, the run and pass, and then the finish. The touch takes three of them (Brondby defenders) out of the game. It’s a fantastic touch. The pass is exceptional and the finish is top drawer.”
The well-crafted goal ensured it wasn’t a disastrous night for the Gers in Denmark and they still have a good chance of making it out of the group.
Much will depend on their next match, though, which is at home to their main challengers for the runners-up spot, Sparta Prague.
After the game, a Rangers star slammed his team’s mentality.
