Ally McCoist has detailed a chance encounter with a Rangers star, as quoted by the Evening Times.
The Rangers legend was talking all things Jermain Defoe, after an impressive showing at Motherwell last weekend.

The £1.8 million-rated [Transfermarkt] 36-year-old is deputising in the absence of the suspended Alfredo Morelos.
However, El Bufalo may not waltz straight back into the team if Defoe maintains his current form.
“I met him, funnily enough, on a flight up from London about a fortnight ago”, said McCoist, as quoted by the Evening Times. “He is a really nice guy.”
“I asked him if he was enjoying it and he clearly is. I don’t think the size of the club has surprised him because he is an intelligent boy, but I was delighted to speak to him and then see him get back in on Sunday.”

It would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall when these two prolific strikers met.
After all, McCoist is Rangers’ all-time top goalscorer, while Defoe has the seventh most in the history of the Premier League.
Clearly, just like Steven Gerrard [The Scotsman], McCoist is impressed by both the man and the player, after recent events.
With Morelos set to miss a further two matches, the veteran is near guaranteed to start in the coming games against Hearts and Aberdeen. Hopefully, he can continue his recent good form between now and the end of the season.
