Rangers legend Ally McCoist has responded to questions about whether or not this is the worst Ibrox side in the last three decades.
The 9IAR Gers hero was speaking on TalkSPORT about the situation at Ibrox as the fall-out continues following a 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
With the pressure rising on Philippe Clement, Rangers icon Ally McCoist has given his two cents and broke his heart over recent comments from Martin O’Neill.

Speaking on TalkSPORT’s breakfast show, Ally McCoist was dissecting the weekend after yet more Rangers disappointment.
And the 62-year-old former Rangers hitman and manager was asked about how Philippe Clement’s Gers side racks up against those of the last 30 years.
Ally McCoist, who is Rangers’ all-time top scorer, was the club’s manager during the most tumultuous period in Ibrox history between 2011 and 2015.
As a result, Coisty pointed to the squads of that period before admitting that there will be ‘no quick fix’ to Rangers’ problems.
“Well, that is up for debate,” McCoist told TalkSPORT (8:52am 22/10). “The fact of the matter is obviously we went down to the second, third division.
“Everything else he (Martin O’Neill) says is 100% right. It’s agony to hear, but he is right in what he says.
“There is a massive gulf between the teams (Rangers and Celtic) at this moment in time.
“He is also right when he says Rangers are capable of going there and getting a result or going anywhere and getting a result, but to do it consistently, on a regular basis, miles off it.
“I don’t think there is going to be an immediate quick fix, sadly, that’s the problem.”
Ex-Celtic manager slams ‘unrecognisable’ Rangers
The Ally McCoist comments come after ex-Celtic manager Martin O’Neill claimed that Rangers are ‘unrecognisable’ from the teams he faced in Glasgow.
Our Old Firm rivals have enjoyed near total domination since Rangers’ financial collapse in 2012, winning all but one Scottish Premiership title in the period of time since.
With Celtic (54) closing in on Rangers’ record domestic trophy haul of 55 title wins, the situation is increasingly drastic and O’Neill is in a state of disbelief about how bad things have gotten.
“Even times when we won the league by big margins, you still thought, Rangers under Alex (McLeish) were really strong and under Advocaat were really, really strong,” O’Neill told TalkSPORT (21/10/24 at 11:40 am)
“So, you could never take your eye off the ball, at all. I have been saying for some weeks now, they are really, really ordinary Rangers. Really ordinary football team. Absolutely (unrecognisable team to the one I faced).”
