Alfredo Morelos’ latest Instagram post appears to suggest he’s happy at Rangers.
The Colombian striker is a source of constant media attention. Whether it’s the goals he scores, his disciplinary problems, his charity work or speculation about his future, he’s rarely out of the headlines.
It seems that ever since he signed for the Gers for a bargain £1 million fee in 2017, he’s been linked with moves elsewhere.
The player himself has talked about his desire to play in the Premier League and to reach the highest level possible.
Yet, for all the talk, it seems Rangers’ resolve hasn’t truly been tested yet by a big-money offer, and the forward is still tied to a long-term contract.
His latest deal, signed in March 2019, sees him through to 2023.
The rumours still abound though, with the likes of Leicester City and West Ham linked in recent months [Scottish Sun], and the names of more clubs are bound to crop up over the course of the summer.
The player’s latest activity on Instagram, though, suggests he’s content at Ibrox. A post uploaded on Wednesday night contains four different pictures of him alongside Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, with the images accompanied by a heart emoji.
Gerrard has regularly stuck up for the 23-year-old during his stint at Rangers, and in these pictures, he’s shown passing on instructions to his talismanic striker and congratulating him following goals or big results.
The post received plenty of attention, racking up almost 30,000 likes by the time of writing, with plenty of bears imploring Morelos to stay put for another season.
El Bufalo netted 29 goals for the Gers during the 2019/20 campaign, including a remarkable 14 in European competition.
