Alex Rae has spoken out about recent developments at Rangers, as quoted by the Daily Record.
First and foremost, despite a difficult couple of weeks, the ex-Ger believes Gerrard is the right man for the job.
A defeat and two draws in the last three matches have wrecked any chance of silverware this campaign.
However, he is adamant success was never going to come overnight.
“I’m certain he is the person to lead the challenge next season”, said Rae, as quoted by
the Record.
He then ventured further to suggest what areas will be targeted for strengthening during the summer transfer window.
“Rangers need another quality centre-half. If you look at the last three games the goals they have lost have been extremely poor.”

“And they need more quality in the offensive area because when they come up against teams who defend deep they find it very hard to break them down.”
Will those comments concern a fan favourite?
Nikola Katic arrived for a reported £2 million last summer. So far, though, he’s struggled to nail down a spot in the team.
If Rae’s prediction comes true, the Croatian’s task doesn’t look like getting any easier, either.
Joe Worrall will return to Notttingham Forest and Gareth McAuley looks unlikely to get a new deal. Yet, fresh faces may pose fresh concerns for Katic.
He was partially to blame for Killie’s goal at the weekend, but he’s got eight more league games with which to prove he’s a viable first choice option for next season.
