Former Rangers midfielder, Alex Rae, believes that if Rangers could win the SPL title this season, it would be nothing short of historic.
As things stand, the Gers are level on points with Celtic, although their biggest rivals have a game in hand.

“It would be up there with one of the most impressive things ever achieved at the club. When you consider where Rangers were a year ago and the turnover of players there has been.”, Rae told the Daily Mail.
“It would be astonishing if Steven Gerrard could win the title in his first season.”
Like many others, the ex-Millwall, Wolves, Sunderland and Gers player, wasn’t giving Rangers much of a chance of league success at the beginning of the campaign.

“At the start of the season I felt second – maybe a cup – was the best Rangers could hope for. But beating Celtic last month was a statement”, said the 49-year-old.
It certainly felt that way at the time.
Celtic have had things their own way for so long.
Yet, from the first whistle, Gerrard’s men dominated their rivals at Ibrox.

Of course, the title is still a long way off.
There are sure to be twists and turns along the way, but for the first time in years, Rangers are in with a shout.
Especially after some prudent January activity, few will be writing this team off now.
