Aberdeen fans come under fire for images mocking Ibrox disaster

Aberdeen fans and bluenoses don’t exactly see eye-to-eye, but to most people it’s just meant as banter.
To some, there’s a vicious streak that runs through the rivalry. Aberdeen supporters really don’t like us. By the same token, we don’t particularly like them, but with no where near the amount of vigour our North East rivals display towards Ibrox.
That was evident once again as Dons fans revelled in some pretty toxic patter at a darts event. It has Rangers fans understandably upset.

It’s obviously two young boys being immensely immature but it just about sums up the bad blood Aberdeen fans have with Rangers supporters. To some people, nothing is off the cards. But it’s genuinely a more serious distaste on the red side of the fence than the blue.
To mock the Ibrox disaster is particularly horrendous.
Rangers stumbled to a 1-1 Scottish Cup draw with Aberdeen on Sunday which forced a replay at Ibrox. Rangers will be hoping to put a better performance in on home turf.
Especially considering Aberdeen will not be getting a requested increase on their ticket allocation. Rangers refused the move citing safety concerns [Daily Record], as Aberdeen did in the first tie.

Clubs are entitled to apply for up to 20% of the tickets in a rival ground under Scottish Cup rules.
It now means Rangers and Aberdeen will likely have played each other seven times by the time the season finishes.
