Rangers are on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Michael Beale, and one of the names that has been mentioned in regard to the role at Ibrox is Pascal Jansen.

Pascal Jansen is in charge of AZ in the Netherlands at the moment, but Rangers reportedly want to bring him to Ibrox.

Pascal Jansen to Rangers update

On October 3, The Telegraph reported that Rangers want to speak to Jansen.

The 50-year-old subsequently said that Rangers had not made any contact with him, adding that he is not looking to leave AZ right now.

Sky Sports are now reporting that it is “unlikely” that Jansen would become the new Rangers manager.

The report has claimed that “one source in Holland has suggested a move for Jansen would be unlikely – with the Dutch side second in the Eredivisie”.

My View: Rangers should not even try for Pascal Jansen

In my opinion, Rangers should not waste their time trying to convince Pascal Jansen to move to Ibrox now.

I do not think that the London-born manager will leave AZ for Rangers at this moment in time..

After all, AZ are a big club in the Netherlands who could win the title this season.

AZ are second in the Eredivisie table at the moment with 19 points from seven matches, just two points behind leaders PSV.

Of course, Rangers are a big club and are also playing in the UEFA Europa League this season, but I think that Jansen would not fancy leaving AZ for the Gers at this stage.
