Rangers will seemingly have to face Barcelona defender Sergino Dest this week as he nears a move to PSV Eindhoven.
The attention turns back to Champions League action this week.
Rangers were pretty unconvincing in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Morton and need much better against PSV this week.
The Gers have battled past Servette to make it to the Champions League play-off round, with a spot in the group stage up for grabs.
There is a real feeling of deja vu here; Rangers dumped PSV out in the same stage of the Champions League qualifiers a year ago.
This won’t be easy for Rangers and there simply has to be an increase in quality from recent performances.
MORE RANGERS STORIES
PSV seem to be in good form under new boss Peter Bosz, hammering Sturm Graz 7-2 on aggregate to meet Rangers as well as winning their first two league games of the season.
As if this wasn’t going to be enough of a test for Rangers, PSV are now poised to make a new signing…
Barcelona’s Sergino Dest set to join Rangers opponents PSV
Voetbal International over in the Netherlands report that Barcelona full back Sergino Dest will now sign for PSV.
It’s stated that Dest has snubbed clubs in the Premier League and Portugal in order to join PSV.
The deal is set to be a loan with option for PSV to buy next summer with Dest set to return to the Netherlands.

American international Dest emerged with Ajax before joining Barcelona in a deal worth around £23.5million back in 2020.
The move really hasn’t worked out for Dest, who spent last season out on loan at AC Milan and didn’t really play as much as hoped.
Dest will now undergo a medical with PSV today and the report claims that he is likely to be registered in time to play against Rangers.
It’s unlikely that Dest will start this first leg at Ibrox but we could see him feature in the second leg, adding some more quality to an already-dangerous PSV side.
