Borussia Dortmund midfielder and Belgian international Axel Witsel has fired a warning to Rangers ahead of the Europa League return between the two sides.
The 33-year-old midfielder is a key player in the Dortmund side and has been with the Bundesliga club since 2018 but was humiliatingly hooked at halftime as the Gers shocked the Germans 4-2.
But speaking ahead of the return clash at Ibrox Stadium Axel Witsel – who joined the club in an £18m deal from Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian [Goal] and has been capped 120 times by Belgium – believes his side are ready to overturn the deficit.
“We have not put ourselves in easy position for the game in Glasgow – but we can’t believe the tie is over,” said Axel Witsel [Daily Record].
“The tie is not over we will not accept that. We have the quality to go and produce a big result.
“It doesn’t matter that we have injuries our squad is big enough and has enough quality to cope.
“We know how poor the result was against Rangers.

“We have to show them respect and say they played well – but we helped them with they way we performed.
“We were not playing as we should be and we know we can – and we made it easy for Rangers on the night.
“They capitalised on our errors and we can’t afford that again.”
Rangers go into the match without midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who has been ruled out of the clash to great frustration in the Ibrox support.
However, defender Leon Balogun will return to the side against the Germans in what could prove a major boost the Ibrox club.
The biggest news coming out of Borussia Dortmund surrounds Erling Braut Haaland, who never travelled with the German side to Glasgow for the game.
