15-goal injured Rangers star spotted in Auchenhowie video, did he have the boots on?

One thing that you won’t hear Philippe Clement moaning about is the Rangers injury list that has, at times, been in double figures since he arrived at the club.

The Gers boss prefers to deal with problems in his squad rather than complain about them or look for sympathy, leaving it instead to the Ibrox faith to procrastinate about who might or who might not be close to a return.

If Philippe Clement could choose one player to have back in his team, Abdallah Sima would be a good bet as the Rangers manager looks to get as many goal scorers as possible in his team.

Philippe Clement boost when Abdallah Sima returns for Rangers

With a goal every two games since signing on loan from Brighton, it’s easy to see why talks over a permanent move have been reported.

At just 22-years old, the Senegal international still has room to develop but already has the sort of quality that would justify a big outlay.

Compare his goal return to that of Ryan Kent, for example.

He didn’t even get into double figures when he was on loan from Liverpool and we were all delight that Steven Gerrard secured a deal to bring him back.

Abdallah Sima is on 15 goals for Rangers having played once in 2024 before injury struck at the African Cup of Nations.

Getting over the 20 mark was an expectation, not a hope.

Oscar Cortes looks like a good addition but we have lost a massive goal threat in Sima.

A threat which could soon return if pictures from Rangers social media are what we think they are.

As part of the charity foundation dream day initiative, Sima is seen in full training gear in and amongst the first-team squad.

As an optimist, this could mean that the surgery to his injured adductor (groin) muscle has gone well and that his previous conditioning has aided his recovery.

The more likely explanation is that he has been in doing his rehabilitation, although there are a few rumours kicking about that he was on the grass at the training ground.

That he has been back attending games at Ibrox and at Auchenhowie is a good sign, it also means that Brighton are happy with the way things are going.

What a difference having Sima, Danilo or Kemar Roofe available would make, and the timing couldn’t be better.
