Reported Rangers target Fashion Sakala has revealed that contract talks are going well between himself current club KV Oostende.
The Zambian striker has been routinely linked to Rangers in recent months with his current deal coming to an end at the end of the season.
Sakala, 23, has hit 13 goals this season and his form suggests it’s no surprise clubs are monitoring the forward’s situation.
However, Oostende’s executive president Gauthier Ganaye had previously claimed that the Belgian side had made the player’s agent four offers, but his agent hadn’t even responded.
Naturally, that had plenty thinking the player would be moving on when his deal expires in the summer but Sakala’s latest comments suggest there is more to come on this story.
Speaking to Belgian magazine Sport, Sakala confirmed that he was engaged in talks over an extension and even claimed they are “going well”.
Rangers have taken advantage of the pre-contract market already this season as the club continues to build for the future.
The Ibrox side have brought forward the deals for Aberdeen winger Scott Wright whilst the club also secured a short-term loan deal for Bournemouth’s Jack Simpson before he joins in the summer.
Rangers have also announced a deal for Bournemouth midfielder Nmandi Ofoborh who will join up with his new teammates after a loan deal at Wycombe Wanderers comes to an end.
