Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy “wants” to stay at boyhood club Newcastle United amid links to Rangers.
That’s according to the Chronicle, who report that the Magpies are relaxed about the winger-turned-wing-back’s situation with his current deal initially believed to be expiring in the summer.

However, it has emerged that the winger has another year in his deal amid confusion regarding a reported £3m price-tag on the player’s head [Football Insider].
The notion he has another year to run on his contract is something which was repeated in the Chronicle report.
That report also claims Newcastle are “relaxed” about Murphy’s situation despite fresh links to Ibrox, Premier League Southampton and promotion hopefuls Watford.
Manager Steve Bruce has also said, “I sincerely hope that we tie Jacob down”.
The Gers have been extensively linked with a move for Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy ever since reports of the interest appeared in the summer [Daily Record].
Only four years ago the Magpies forked out £12m to take Murphy, now 26, to St. James’ Park from Norwich City but for whatever reason it hasn’t quite happened on Tyneside.

Murphy is one of a number of players being linked to Ibrox ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, there are also plenty of names being linked out of the club with one such player being warned against a move away from Rangers despite £25m valuations.
