Liverpool-based Rangers retail partners Castore are officially set to relocate to Manchester in a move which will create 300 new jobs in the city.

The premium sports retailers signed a new deal with Rangers last summer which was said to be worth an initial £25m to the Ibrox club [Scotsman].

Castore have gone on to build an impressive portfolio of sporting heroes with the likes of Sir Andy Murray, Owen Farrell, and Gary Neville already on board.

The McLaren F1 team is also an official partner whilst Castore also have a partnership with the West Indies cricket team.

The business has made no bones about its intention to shake up the static sports retail market and the opening of a new headquarters in Manchester city centre is another step to achieving this.

As Business Live details, the business has signed a 13-year lease at a property on Manchester’s One Central Street which will see the business occupy the available workspace of 22,100 square feet across five floors.

That report also claims that the sports company’s revenue is set to top £100m this year and revealed that the move would create numerous jobs in Manchester.

“We are delighted to be moving to Manchester and opening Castore House as our global HQ in the city,” said Phil Beahon, who co-founded Castore with brother Tom.

“It is clear for everyone to see that Manchester is a city with an incredible buzz about it and the number of fast-growing, high tech businesses in the city were a real draw for us when choosing our long-term home for Castore.”

This move will also help to quell fears from the Rangers support regarding customer service and quality control issues during the first year of the partnership between the two parties.

It’s been an extraordinary journey so far but Castore will not be given much of the same leeway heading into next season should similar issues arise.

The growth of the company has been impressive and reportedly, they’re on the verge of announcing a kit deal with a leading Premier League club in news which triggered some Gers fans.
