Rarely-seen Rangers winger Jordan Jones has been pictured in training ahead of his side’s Premiership fixture against Hibernian on Wednesday night [Rangers.co.uk].
Jones has struggled to make an impact at Ibrox since joining from Kilmarnock in the summer of 2019, making just 19 appearances in all competitions.

An injury picked up from a wild challenge on Celtic’s Moritz Bauer ruined his first season and a breach of Covid regulations in November 2020 saw him pick up a seven-match SFA ban.
His suspension was completed before the turn of the year, but he hasn’t featured since, with a minor injury briefly halting his bid to get back into the side.
Steven Gerrard said that Jones and George Edmundson – who also breached Covid regulations in November – were two players he needed with the group going forward, but neither of them have made a first-team appearance since Jones came off the bench against Livingston in the league in late October and they have both been linked with loan moves away from Ibrox this month [Daily Record].
Edmundson is currently injured but it seems Jones is fit and available after he was snapped taking part in training on Tuesday.
He’ll be hoping to have done enough this week to earn a spot in the matchday squad at Easter Road, perhaps in place of Brandon Barker, who has done little of note recently.

There isn’t a great deal of time left in the transfer window, so the Hibs clash might be the final chance Jones has to show that he could be useful over the remainder of the season, otherwise he may be sent elsewhere for regular game time.
Under contract until 2023, the Northern Ireland international has relative security at Rangers, but if he doesn’t force his way into the manager’s plans soon, it’s hard to see his fringe player status at the club ever changing.
