Rangers’ starting XI for Saturday’s Scottish Cup clash against Annan Athletic has been confirmed.

Galabank is the venue for this Fifth Round tie as the champions of Scotland take on the fourth-tier Black and Golds.

While there is a quarter-final berth at stake, this fixture was always going to provide Gio van Bronckhorst with an opportunity to make changes and, in the end, he’s named a completely different XI to the one that defeated Hibernian 2-0 at Ibrox in the Premiership on Wednesday night.

The rest of the back four is made up of James Sands, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic, who have replaced Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey respectively.

In midfield, there’s a first Rangers start for Aaron Ramsey alongside veteran Steven Davis, with Glen Kamara and John Lundstram dropping out.

Further forward, an exciting attacking quartet of Amad Diallo, Scott Wright, Fashion Sakala and Kemar Roofe replaces Joe Aribo, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield and Alfredo Morelos.

Teenagers Alex Lowry, Leon King and Charlie McCann have all made the squad.

Robby McCrorie, James Tavernier, Bassey, Jack Simpson, and Cedric Itten complete the bench.

The likes of McGregor, Aribo, Goldson and Morelos have dropped out of the squad entirely for a rest.

Meanwhile, earlier today, Rangers B drew a blank and slipped to a surprise defeat.
