Rangers take on Motherwell at Hampden Park with victory an expectation rather than a hope if Philippe Clement wants to save his job.
The manager knows that his time in the Ibrox hotseat could be limited with his squad letting him down badly recently in domestic fixtures – another slip up and it could be curtains.
Injuries are starting to improve despite no update from Clement and this is who he has picked for Rangers to secure a place in the Premier Sports Cup final.

Rangers team news confirmed vs Motherwell
Clement stood and watched his defence have a collective nightmare against Aberdeen with the two goals conceded being preventable if every member of the back four had done their job.
Jefte is the obvious name to come back in from the start and the gaffer has decided that he can’t keep chopping and changing in the middle so has stuck with Leon Balogun and John Souttar.
The midfield has been let down by a few players round about them and Nicolas Raskin has been Rangers best player in his last three starts, alongside Connor Barron there is a good base for the team to build on.
Tom Lawrence, despite disappointing in midweek, keeps his place in the team.
Nedim Bajrami and Vaclav Cerny are, arguably, the most dangerous players available to Clement just now and he will be hoping that they get a bit of help from those at No.10 and No.9 today.
This is your Rangers starting XI for tonight’s clash with Aberdeen:
- Butland, Tavernier, Jefte, Balogun, Souttar, Barron, Raskin, Lawrence, Cerny, Bajrami, Dessers
Rangers fans react to semi-final team news
It’s a surprise that Rangers’ social media team hasn’t switched comments off for all of their posts because they have all been met with a barrage of abuse recently.
One fan questioned why Dessers was rewarded for his “83 minute horror show” against Aberdeen whilst another remarked “Isn’t stupidity trying the same thing over and over again without changing and expecting a different outcome,” they are nearly right, it’s insanity.
On a more positive note, one Rangers fan commented “At least Cerny is back,” before another, not quite so positive asked “Is Clement trying to get sacked?”
We’re about 90 minutes away from finding out.
