Connor Goldson made his 300th appearances for Rangers against Hearts – before hinting there will be plenty more to come!
The Rangers vice-captain, 31, is in his sixth season at Ibrox and has reached the astonishing milestone after bouncing back from a heart issue earlier in his career.
A near ever-present since joining Rangers from Brighton in a £3.5m deal under Steven Gerrard in 2018, it’s been a rollercoaster six years at Ibrox.
But speaking after reaching 300 games in the 5-0 demolition of Hearts, it sounds like Connor Goldson has plenty more Rangers appearances in the tank just yet.
Rangers star “excited” for the future
Speaking after the win over Hearts, Connor Goldson was delighted at the result as he praised his Rangers teammates.
But with the Ibrox side top of the Scottish Premiership and resurgent under Philippe Clement, the defender has claimed he’s very “excited” about what’s to come at Ibrox.
With Rangers Connor’s main focus, the defender is currently contracted to the club until 2026 and we wouldn’t bet against him extending that even further into the future.
“I am happy to reach 300,” said Goldson. “It is a lot of hard work, a lot of games in six years here – it’s not a bad ratio to reach 300 already.
“But I want to keep going. I am enjoying myself and I am excited about the future and long may that continue.
“I thought we dominated apart from the last 20 minutes when it turned into a bit of a basketball game when we could have enjoyed it a bit more.
“Apart from that we were dominant with and without the ball. When we press high, I think we caused them problems.
“We played a good side and at times in the first and second half we had to suffer as a team and Jack Butland made some big saves, but we limited them and we got another clean sheet and five goals, so hopefully everyone is happy.”
Connor Goldson reaches 300 games v Hearts
Whilst by Connor Goldson’s own admission Rangers haven’t won enough in recent seasons, the defender has been crucial to the success the club has had in modern times.
A pivotal part of the side and a key member of the Rangers leadership group, Goldson’s 300 Rangers appearances have coincided with the club’s upturn in fortunes.
Whilst there have been plenty of ups and downs along the way, Connor Goldson is synonymous with the heart of the Rangers defence and has been one of the main constants for the club.

It’s hard to imagine the big defender turning out anywhere else and it’s reassuring to hear that Connor is as excited about the future as the supporters are.
Rangers’ win over Hearts takes the club five points clear in the Scottish Premiership with Celtic playing catch up ahead of their trip to Motherwell tomorrow.
